On Wednesday, July 22nd, there will be five Half-Day Workshops, one will run for two sessions. There will be three in the morning and three in the afternoon, as indicated in the Wednesday workshop descriptions below.
All workshops cost $75.00 plus a $6.88 EventBrite fee ($81.88 Total) and will take place at the International Printing Museum.

Workshop #1A & #1P: Paper Marbling

Explore the mystery and magic that is traditional Turkish marbling, using a thickened bath and acrylic paint to create one-of-a-kind prints. Using handmade tools, you will be taught to throw paint, produce basic patterns, and create mesmerizing papers for bookbinding, collage, and more.
Workshop #2: Heidelberg Windmill Operations

The Heidelberg Windmill is a remarkably precise and powerful workhorse of letterpress printing. This introduction to the Windmill will explore the key elements of working with the press while learning proper safety, make-ready, automatic feed, impression, inking, and registration.
Workshop #3: Book Making: Slim Case Bindings

We will sew slim text blocks, create a casing, choose lovely book cloths and decorative papers, and finally case in our books. Each person will leave with a unique handmade book and the skills and resource knowledge to make more at home!
Workshop #4: Foil Stamping

Working with vintage Kingsley Hot Foil Stamping Machines, you’ll learn how to set the specialized type by hand, select foils, and adjust heat, as well as time to achieve crisp, clean foil impressions. You’ll leave with your own personalized stationery and other goodies.
Workshop #5: Book Making: Pop-Up Books

Learn five introductory paperfolding techniques that are foundational for exploring the more complicated paper engineering of pop-up bookmaking. We’ll also add a “wow” factor by using color to enhance the shapes and shadows formed by paper dimensionality.
