Bruce Jones McDonald, 80, of Sandy Springs, Georgia, entered into his heavenly rest on April 19, 2025. Unlike many who search for their life\u2019s purpose, Bruce was fortunate to discover his calling early. Before the age of 12, he had found his passion in printing and spent the next 68 years, as he often said, \u201cputting ink to paper.\u201d At 16, he began dating the love of his life, Sara Kathryn Reeves. They married in 1968, raised two daughters, and together established Craftsmen Printing Company in 1981. In 2018, they sold the business and enjoyed a few well-earned years of retirement together.<\/p>\n
Bruce was blessed with a loving family, a deep Christian faith, and a wide circle of friends. He lived with humility and a servant\u2019s heart, always eager to help others. He was a faithful and active member of Christ Church of Atlanta and a devoted supporter of Wears Valley Ranch, whose mission is to promote the spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social and physical development of children in need of a stronger family support system, through Christ-centered home settings.<\/p>\n
A proud graduate of Georgia Tech and the MBA program at Georgia State University, Bruce valued life-long learning and hard work. He maintained an extensive hobby print shop and library, and a was a longtime member of various letterpress associations. He enjoyed traveling and also spending time in the mountains of North Carolina.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his daughters and their husbands, Heather and Pic Walker, and Claire and Gordon Benedict; and six cherished grandchildren: Zelle, Kacy, and Mac Walker, and Rebie, Beverly, and Brooke Benedict. He is also survived by his brother, Jim, and sister-in-law, Leisa; their daughter, Caitlin, and her husband, Pat Murphy; as well as many beloved cousins.<\/p>\n
A memorial service will be held at H.M. Patterson & Son-Arlington Chapel on Tuesday, April 22 at 1:00pm, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wears Valley Ranch, 100 One Fine Place, Sevierville, TN 37862.<\/p>\n
