Stephen Hirschberg diagnosed with pancreatic cancer

This from Arlene Popkin #664:

I’m sorry to report that my beloved,  husband, partner in APA 664, best friend, and fellow-proprietor of The Thomas Jefferson Press has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We have done chemotherapy, radiation, and more chemotherapy.  An attempt at a Whipple procedure to cut it out (along with various internal organs) revealed metastases all over the abdominal interior.  It is inoperable and incurable.  We are hanging on as best we can, trying to manage the pain and make every day count.  He hasn’t been strong enough to do any printing for a while, but he still loves examining the bundle.
